by V.S. Chochezi
Yes she wears her
Heart on one sleeve
But on the other
She wears stanzas
And short verses
A couplet is written
Across her forehead
Laugh lines are etched
Knowingly into her cheeks
Her smile is an open book
Her glistening, dancing eyes
Say tell me your story
And I'll tell you mine
And sometimes the words
I share will melodically rhyme
Her tongue throws out rhythms
She speaks to a beat
And she has words of truth
For everyone she meets
She'll even turn the oldest
Most worn out cliche
Into a tasty treat
Yet, she'll deny she's a poet.

I flipped open a random book of poetry I found... This was the first page I read. I loved it.
